Everyday self-respect and self-esteem of a common citizen is being raped in government offices. Therefore its time to stand against corruption. It was 30th January, a sunny afternoon of Delhi. Thousands of people from Delhi and even from other parts of country gathered together in Ram Lila Ground for the March against corruption. 30th January is the day, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated. Some poeple were shouting,"Gandhi hum sharminda hai..Bhrastachari Jinda hai"
When I entered the ground some singers of Art of Living were started singing the fev Bhajan of Bapu ,"Raghupati Ragav Raja Ram Patit Paavan Sita Ram". Crowd was reluctant to sing. Kiran Bedi well known lady cop and also known as traffic crane operator because she craned the car of Ms Indira Gandhi the then Prime Minister held the mike and persuaded the crowd,"Gaiye aap log aaj bapu ki punya tithhi hai", crowd starts singing. One by one distinguished speakers came forward and delivered their speeches. Dr Bedi said its because of corruption we are poor. Ram Jeth Malani the famous lawyer starts his speech as "Mere badkismat deshwashiyon" and the crowd applauds. He uttered his life story how he came from Pakistan to India after partisan and used to live in reffuge camp etc etc. He adds that "Main desh ke gaddaron ko jail ki hawa khilaye bina marne wala nahi hoon". All the speakers delivered their speeches in Hindi. Others well known figures were Medha Patekar, Arvind Kejriwal, Swami Agniwesh, Archbishop of Delhi, Anna Hazare, Mahesh Giri of Art of Living et al. Medha Patekar was sick but when she started speaking there was force and conviction in her voice. Arvind Kejriwal an RTI activist is the main organiser of this movement.
A nation wide movement  called "India against corruption" has been started by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Swami Ramdev, Swami Agniwesh, Vincent M Conessao Archbishop of Delhi, Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal, Anna Hazare, Mallika Sarabhai and many others. The main motive of this movement  is to demand enactment of law to set up an effective anti-corruption body called Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayukta in each state(the existing Lokayukta Acts are weak and ineffective). Kiran Bedi, JusticeSantoshHegde, PrashantBhusan, JM Lyngdoh and others have drafted this Bill.
In our existing system no politician or senior officer ever goes to jail despite huge evidence because Anti corruption Branch and CBI come under the government. Before starting investigation or initiating prosecution in any case, they have to take permission from the same bosses, against whom the case has to be investigated. Citizens face harassment in government offices and there is a very small punishment for corruption. Therefore we need a new and effective anti-corruption body. But government will enact this Bill only when lakhs of people will come on street and raise their voice against corruption..there's no other way..Jai Hind...!!
